Cris has extensive experience as a trademark paralegal operating in both in-house and private practice environments. After completing her paralegal certification through the National Academy for Paralegal Studies, she joined the law department at Prince Sports Group, Inc., serving as its Trademark Administrator from 1990 to 1995. In 1995 she joined Mauri at Tyco Toys, Inc., where she was the sole Trademark Paralegal responsible for maintenance of a substantial worldwide portfolio until 1997. Following the acquisition of Tyco Toys by Mattel, Inc., Cris enlarged her role by assuming responsibility for the Product Legal department, in which she was charged with legal clearance of all packaging, advertising and promotional materials created in support of Company product for the Mount Laurel, New Jersey division. She remained in this position until 2004, when Mattel consolidated its operations and closed its facilities in New Jersey.
Shortly thereafter Cris joined the Corporate group of Tyco International, Inc. (not to be confused with Tyco Toys) as a Trademark Paralegal, a position in which she was responsible for maintenance and oversight of the “TYCO” house mark in both consumer goods and service applications. In 2006 she joined the intellectual property practice of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, LLP in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as a Trademark Paralegal, and following the 2008 divestiture of the transactional IP practice stayed with the spin-off practice at Panitch Schwarze Belisario & Nadel LLP. She remained in this capacity until she joined Laura and Mauri at K & G Law.
With this unique background, Cris brings to our practice a depth of experience in the consumer products and professional services arenas for both domestic and international properties. She oversees all docketing and takes the laboring oar on ex-US applications and trademark maintenance filings. Her lengthy experience working with both the principals and firm clients ensures seamless communication and integration.
